In June of this year, soulful crooner Daniel Caesar dropped two singles, “We Find Love” and “Blessed,” with the latter making an appearance on CASSIUS’ #NewFindsFriday. The Toronto-bred singer has provided a visual treatment for both records in one video, and has also announced his upcoming sophomore album’s title and release date.
Freudian will be available to the world on August 25 on Golden Child Recordings. The video for “We Find Love/Blessed” finds Caesar with a woman as they go through the trials and tribulations of love in a grainy-shot visual.
In a letter written to The Fader, Caesar states, “I’ve never been as proud about anything I’ve created in my whole life. This body of work is about examining my most complex feelings and thoughts more directly. I’m more exposed than ever on this album. It’s like I’m in therapy, but it’s on display. And I got to make this with my friends. It’s just us, no label, so it makes it much more special.”
