Wish Granted: Will Smith Shares First Photo Of The ‘Aladdin’ Cast On Set

Production for the forthcoming Aladdin film has officially commenced and thanks to Will Smith, we’ve got our first look at the cast on set.

Smith will play Genie in the live-action remake of the classic 1992 Disney movie, alongside Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Naomi Scott (Princess Jasmine), and Marwan Kenzari (Jafar). In a new photo posted to his Facebook page, the legend introduced his “new family” while “gettin’ [his] genie on.” See his post here.

Soon after, Massoud followed up and dropped the same pic, adding “Agrabah just got a lot hotter. Ooof! Gonna be keeping you posted on everything Aladdin peeps ;)”

While fans of the original are over the moon about the remake, producers have been facing a ton of scrutiny thanks to their latest casting decision. Billy Magnussen will reportedly play a character that wasn’t in the 1992 animated version of Aladdin and Twitter is not happy about it:
