Cardi B had one hell of a year. After signing a record deal with Atlantic Records in February 2017, the Bronx native released her debut single “Bodak Yellow” in June. The record reached the top two on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, number one on the Hot Rap Songs chart, and number one on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, becoming hands down one of the hottest records of the year, and starting parties any and everywhere at a moment’s notice without warning. The good news kept coming for Cardi when she earned two Grammy nominations for “Bodak Yellow,” one for Best Rap Song and the other for Best Rap Performance.

Cardi recently sat with Noisey UK for the latest episode of its series The People Vs., where artists read and respond to YouTube comments on one of their songs. Past guests include Rae Sremmurd, 50 Cent, Migos, and Michael “Big Shaq” Dapaah.

“Bodak Yellow” was the subject of the episode, and the visuals for the smash hit currently have more than 349 million views. Known to say whatever is on her mind in her own way, the rapstress showed love to her fans and supporters while clapping back at the haters and internet trolls.

“I don’t look like Dora the Explorer! Now if you was to say that I looked like the lady from The Untouchables, the evil lady—what was her name, she got the glasses—yeah, her.”
