The year of 2017 belongs to Cardi B, and she’s closing it out with a bang as only she could. The Bronx rapper stopped past The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and completely stole the show, and Fallon found himself speechless over her charm.

Cardi explained how she came up with her moniker, which involves her sister. “My sister’s name is Hennessy, right?” she said. “So everybody used to call me Bacardi, so I always call myself Bacardi, right? And then it was my Instagram name—Bacardi, Bacardi B—but for some reason my Instagram kept getting deleted and I think it was Bacardi that had something to do with it. So I just shortened it to Cardi B.”

She also talked about her holiday plans and explained why she’s steadfast in not giving any adults gifts for Christmas. “Everyone I know has kids, and that’s a lot of kids,” Cardi said. “And I got new god-kids out of nowhere, you know when you start making money, now everyone wants you to be their kids’ godmother or something.”  Of course, Cardi discussed being nominated for two Grammy awards, how she already feels like a winner because of how far she’s come, and her engagement to Migos member Offset. She didn’t see it coming, she shared: “I knew he was gonna give me a very expensive gift, because he wasn’t there for my birthday, but I thought he was gonna give me a watch or something.” She also promoted her newest single, “Bartier Cardi” featuring 21 Savage, out Friday.

The dialogue between Cardi and Fallon is for the ages. We wouldn’t be surprised if a producer somewhere saw last night’s interview and is coming up with a late-night show just for the rapper. Check out the full interview above.
