New York Giants v Pittsburgh Steelers

Odell Beckham Jr.’s gotta be cheesin’ pretty hard right now (or definitely somewhere dancing).

After an intense bidding war, the N.Y. Giants wide receiver has successfully resigned with Nike for a hefty sum.

While details of the deal haven’t been announced yet, sources have said that Beckham is set to make around $5 million a year, with the deal expiring in five years. Not only is this the Swoosh’s richest sneaker deal ever made with the NFL star, but it’s nearly double any deal ever made with a football player.

Beckham’s previous deal with Nike only paid him less than $1 million a year. And with the wide receiver still playing on his rookie contract, he’s set to reel in more from Nike this year than from Big Blue.

But he’s not the only one— Nike’s filling LeBron James pockets more than the Cavaliers are, as are adidas, which is paying H-Town’s James Harden $200 milly.

According to Nike Kicks, Nike was in competition with adidas for Beckham. Nike had a ten-day window to match the three-stripes, and so the leading brand decided to just do it. With incentives like performance and post season performances, Beckham could pull in nearly $30 million over fuveears.

Beckham’s loyalty to the Oregon-based company is on full display on Instagram, and being friends with Drake doesn’t hurt when it comes to getting the OVO collection months before everyone else.
