As if the homie DeMario getting caught in an epic lie on last week’s episode of The Bachelorette wasn’t enough, another contestant has some explaining to do.

Lee Garrett, a 30-year-old singer/songwriter from Nashville may have just been outed as a racist. Some of his old tweets were dug up and to say the least, his thoughts in 140 characters or less are problematic. He may be vowing for the heart of the first Black Bachelorette in the show’s history, but just last summer, Garrett tweeted about his disdain for Islam and even Hillary Clinton.

“I don’t hate Muslims, I do hate Islam,” reads one of the tweets. “I just mindf-cked a few liberals for standing for something while making reasonable sense.”

While in another, he supposedly asks, “When is the last time you actually saw a pretty feminist? There is a reason for this.”

Peep all of his painfully offensive tweets below.

If this troublesome stream of consciousness wasn’t enough, he also reportedly insulted the Black Lives Matter movement, the LGBTQ+ community, and the NAACP… but somehow, he still made the cut.

Dudes tend to scrap on the show for less offensive reasons, so it’s very possible that his views could lead to a ton of drama later this season.

One small step forward, about a million steps back.
