Ah, the ’90s. Whats not to love about the era of classic hip hop, Cross Colours and beepers? For Spring/Summer 2018, streetwear e-tailer Bodega paid homage to the period with a playful lookbook that reads like a vintage catalog. Shot in a minimalist studio, models rock the label’s oversize shorts, long sleeve tees and baggy sweats in electric hues.
“When alternative music and hip-hop culture broke through to the mainstream, everything changed,” read the liner notes. “The mainstream gatekeepers spent the previous decade doing their best to pretend these particular forms of culture didn’t actually exist.” Embodying the playful spirit of the iconic era, bold videos and accompanying imagery celebrate the unapologetic expression that resonates so strongly all these years later.
