Seems like we won’t be seeing much of Tekashi 6ix9ine for a while.

The rapper was arrested on an outstanding warrant on Wednesday (July 11) at JFK airport.  He allegedly choked a teen who was trying to film him in a Texas shopping mall at the top of the year.

Tekashi and his lawyers reportedly pleaded for the judge to release him on bail in a court hearing on Thursday (July 12), claiming he learned his lesson. He also said he needed to be released to continue supporting his mother and family, but the judge wasn’t having it. The judge also said due to Tekashi’s recent travels across Europe, he didn’t seem to be taking the case seriously.

This isn’t the first time the Brooklyn rapper has gotten into trouble with the law. He was under investigation for involvement in the attempted shooting of Chief Keef in Time Square early last month. He also accepted a guilty plea deal in a 2015 child sex case, requiring him to be on his best behavior.

The “Gunmo” rapper will will remain locked up until his July 20 hearing, before being extradited to Texas.
