Breakups suck. And while getting over an old flame may look different for everybody, Young Thug’s recent horrific action has him centered in headlines.

This week, Jerrika Karlae, the rapper’s ex-fiancé, tweeted that she’s “back on the market” after allegedly catching him cheating with a series of sidepieces. It’s one thing to be jealous. It’s another to threaten someone’s life, which is what appears to be what Thugger was trying to do when he tweeted: “What market? Bitch u goin [sic] die OnGod.”

As if that wasn’t enough, he then retweeted his message as if to make a point, sparking uproar on social media. All of this after initially pleading for her to take him back via SnapChat. The whole thing is just… a mess.

Which reminds us: the problematic rapper’s had quite a few endorsements as of late. In August, Young Thug appeared in an adidas campaign alongside 21 Savage and Playboi Carti. In May, Coca-Cola featured his Jamie xx collaboration in one of their ads. Last year, he sported womenswear for Calvin Klein.

Oh, and we haven’t forgotten about the “black burnt women” incident.

All this to raise the question: what consequences will he face? Will big brands continue to support him or will he finally face repercussions for his behavior?
