PUMA remixed its RS model— an innovative style released in 1986— for the perfect past-meets-present drop. The original RS (short for RUNNING SYSTEM) was considered pretty advanced when it debuted, thanks to top notch cushioning that provided runners with never-before-seen stability. The release is the first in a new brand initiative focused on rebooting retro styles.

It’s taking something from the past, evolving it, and reinventing it for today.

The new model fuses the original design with modern advancements. A graphic suede and leather colorway nods to the brand’s iconic Archive Green. “We are nostalgic for the aesthetics of the past with the expectations of the future. This is how PUMA defines the new RS-0. It’s taking something from the past, evolving it, and reinventing it for today,” adds Heiko Desens, PUMA’s Creative Director for Sportstyle .

The new initiative will kick off with the RS-0 model followed by remixed iterations of additional styles from the original R-series, the RS-100 and RS-350. Visit puma.com for more information on the RS-0 drop ($130), available for prelaunch April 14 .
