Carmelo’s Deal With Rockets Is Official

The reunion between Mike D’Antoni and Carmelo Anthony is finally happening. Monday afternoon, the 10-time all-star officially signed a contract with the Houston Rockets. D’Antoni was previously Melo’s coach when the two worked out of Madison Square Garden back in 2012, but he thinks this time won’t be like the last. It “is totally different,” he told USA Today when asked about the reunion.

“In New York, when [the Knicks] gave away half the team [to the Nuggets in the 2011 trade for Anthony] and everybody expected us to win a championship, it really wasn’t realistic,” he added. With Melo in the locker room, The Rockets will be adding more of a veteran presence as they try to fight their way to finals once again.

Jack Whitehall Is Reportedly Playing Disney’s First Openly Gay Character

Actor Jack Whitehall recently announced that he’d join the cast of The Jungle Cruise — but many people aren’t too happy about it.

The film, which also stars Emily Blunt and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, is set to hit theaters in October 2019. But the issue is that Whitehall is playing the openly gay brother of Emily Blunt’s character — but Whitehall himself is straight. Many members of the LGBT community are offended that a hetero man is getting the honor of playing the first openly gay character in a Disney movie.

Disney has yet to comment.
