Apple’s new head of diversity is a Black woman, ayyyee! Denise Young Smith, who’s worked for Apple for years, is the tech giant’s new vice president of inclusion and diversity. Smith’s new role comes two years after Jeffrey Siminoff left the position for Twitter in 2015. “Cook has said that diversity is a ‘readily solvable issue,’ explicitly saying in 2015 that he wanted to,” says CNN. “The company’s latest diversity report revealed a workforce that’s still predominately white and male.” Here’s to Smith’s advancement being a move toward some much-needed change.

Trump should be afraid—very afraid—of Comey’s forthcoming meeting with the Senate intelligence committee. At least that’s what Benjamin Wittes, “friend” of James Comey, told Anderson Cooper on AC360 Tuesday. “I found it interesting and very telling that (Comey) declined any opportunity to tell his story in private,” Wittes said. “This is a guy with a story to tell.” According to CNN, Wittes says he “decided to speak out about discussions he had with Comey about his contact with Trump because of one recent report of Trump’s request for a pledge of loyalty at a dinner shortly after he took office.” In other Trump news, the president met with Pope Francis for the first time, and that was… interesting.

Three more people have joined a discrimination lawsuit against Fox News, reports NBC News. Among them is Fox News Radio shift editor Kathleen Lee, “who says she was sexually harassed and ‘physically threatened’ by former radio news anchor Ron Flatter.” According to attorney Donald Wigdor, the tally of former Fox News employees that have accused the network of “Plantation-style management” has now hit 23. And let’s not forget about Bill O’Reilly and the late Roger Ailes, who are both a source of much of Fox News’ sexual harassment controversy.
“We have consistently demonstrated that the Company is committed to a diverse workplace that is free from all forms of discrimination, takes any complaint of discrimination seriously, and in these particular matters took prompt, effective and, where necessary, strong remedial action,” Fox News said in a recent statement. “We believe these latest claims are without legal basis and look forward to proving that the Company at all times has acted appropriately, and lawfully, in connection with these matters.” 23, though. Twenty. Three.
