Chicago artists Jamila Woods and Chance the Rapper know how important it is to uplift the communities that shape them — which is why they’re giving one Chicago public high school student the chance of a lifetime.

Woods and Chance are currently accepting submissions from CPS high school students about the vision for the “LSD” music video.

The lucky winner will be on set to see their piece come to life before their eyes. Talk about career goals, the teen will shadow the directors, Vincent Martell and Sam Bailey, and the production crew during filming. Runner-up pitches might also assist with different department heads.

Of course, this isn’t out of character for either Chance or Woods. Earlier this year, the rapper donated $1 million to CPS and launched an initiative with his non-profit Social Works to donate $10,000 to a specific Chicago public school for every $100,000 raised by the foundation. Woods was also a founding member of Young Chicago Artist’s Teaching Artist Corps, a group that educates and mentors young people in the arts.

Social media stays making the connections that will help motivate the next generation to keep striving — and we love seeing the results.
