America Won Its First Olympic Women’s Hockey Gold in Two Decades.

While we were all asleep last night, the U.S. women’s hockey team kicked Canada’s ass 3-2 at the Olympics. Their victory marks the end of “a bitter 20-year gold-medal drought,” as USA Today so aptly states. Even better: their win, which is also the greatest game in U.S. women’s hockey history, came on the 38th anniversary of the 1980 Miracle on Ice win against the Soviet Union in Lake Placid—the best game in U.S. men’s hockey history. Talk about full circle.
