Details About the Capital Gazette Shooting Suspect Have Been Released.

According to HuffPost and other media reports, the suspect who left five people dead and two injured in a “targeted attack” on Thursday has been identified as 38-year-old Jarrod Ramos, a resident of Laurel, Md. The Capital Gazette confirmed with HuffPost that Ramos had filed a defamation lawsuit against the paper and one of its columnists in 2012.

“This person was prepared today to come in, this person was prepared to shoot people,” Bill Krampf, deputy chief of the Anne Arundel County Police Department, said at a news briefing. “His intent was to cause harm, and as I stated before, the investigative part of this is going to be thorough and it’s going to take some time.”

Ex-Carolina Panthers Owner Jerry Richardson Has Been Fined $2.75 Million by the NFL for Racial and Sexual Misconduct.

On Thursday, the NFL announced its findings and conclusions regarding an investigation conducted by former U.S. Attorney and SEC Chairman Mary Jo White into allegations against Richardson.

“White’s investigation, conducted over a period of several months, resulted in a detailed understanding of the scope and substance of the claims made by current and former Carolina Panthers employees,” the NFL wrote in a statement. “White said that, ‘The findings and recommendations that I have shared with the Commissioner are the product of an extensive review, including interviews with club executives, current and former employees, analysis of documents, electronic records, and other sources of information. I particularly appreciate the work of the club employees in assessing the need for enhancing the club’s workplace policies, procedures, and training and implementing appropriate changes.'”
