Chamillionaire wants to talk about immigration.
On Monday, Niraj Warikoo of Detroit Free Press published a story about Jorge Garcia, a Michigan dad who was deported to Mexico after living in the United States for 30 years. Garcia was forced to leave behind his wife and two children, who are all American citizens.
Wairkoo’s story about Garcia and his family elicited so much emotion that it hit a somewhat unexpected audience—D.C.-native entertainer, entrepreneur, and investor Chamillionaire.
The “Ridin’” rapper emailed Warikoo about the piece and asked if there was a way he could financially support Garcia’s family in his absence. After double checking his email and verifying that it was the same one on Chamillionaire’s official website, Warikoo tweeted it out.
Some Twitter users were eager to point Warikoo and Chamillionaire in the direction of the Garcia Family’s GoFundMe.
Others applauded him for not seeking PR in the middle of it all.

This isn’t the first time that Chamillionaire has shown up and out for a good cause. Last year, after Hurricane Harvey, he launched a relief charity called the Robin’s Heart Foundation to raise money for the hardest hit areas.
CASSIUS has reached out to Warikoo for a comment, but in the meantime, we hope that the Garcia family will be able to receive the help they deserve.
