In the latest meme-spawned challenge to hit social media, the “Bird Box” challenge has people out here blindfolding themselves while doing everyday tasks—and filming it, of course. You can imagine how this could become dangerous, right? Okay.
Which is why Netflix is stepping in to stop the insanity.
“Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE,” someone tweeted from the official Netflix US account on Wednesday. “We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.”
But for real, guys. Don’t do it. Please.
Maybe Participate in This Challenge Instead.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z are challenging you to go vegan in 2019.
“Having children has changed our lives more than anything else,” the couple writes in the intro for Marco Borges’ new book, The Greenprint: Plant-Based Diet, Best Body, Better World. “We used to think of health as a diet—some worked for us, some didn’t. Once we looked at health as the truth, instead of a diet, it became a mission for us to share that truth and lifestyle with as many people as possible.”
They continue, “We all have a responsibility to stand up for our health and the health of the planet. Let’s take this stand together. Let’s spread the truth. Let’s make this mission a movement. Let’s become ‘the Greenprint.’” they added.
