An Explosion in North Haven, Conn. Has Left Multiple Cops Wounded.

At least eight officers were injured in a North Haven, Conn. barn explosion amid a “very violent domestic call,” The Associated Press reports.

“This started late this afternoon,” First Selectman Michael Freda told WTIC-TV according to AP. Police “were trying to coax him … out of the house and really try to calm the situation down. Then things took a turn for the worse with an explosion.”

According to CBS News, the incident began around 2 p.m. on Tuesday when a female victim, who had escaped her home after being held hostage by her husband for three days, entered North Haven Police headquarters and reported the incident. The suspect reportedly “barricaded” himself inside of the barn shortly before the explosion.
