Glen “Big Baby” Davis has been out of the NBA since 2015, but he must’ve managed his money correctly because he just got caught in a hotel room with almost $100k.

But the money wasn’t why he got arrested on February 7—it was the 126 grams of marijuana found in his Hampton Inn room in Baltimore. According to ESPN, the hotel owner smelled marijuana coming from Davis’ room and decided to call the police, which is how they found the weed and $92,000 in cash. In addition to the money and marijuana, police also found “a ledger that contained language which is consistent with someone involved in the sale and distribution of narcotics.”

Big Baby was arrested and later indicted on seven counts of drug possession and distribution.

As rumors began to swirl about the validity of Davis’ arrest, he decided to take to Instagram to speak his part and give us some comedic gold. What better way to prove your innocence than by eating copious amounts of Popeye’s fried chicken on a private jet?

“Don’t believe all that sh*t on the internet,” Davis says in the video. “I will have my day in court. They just mad because a Black man got money, man. Just trying to keep a Black man down, man.”

As for those questioning where that suitcase full of cash came from, he says it’s from his NBA days.

“My sh*t legal, man. A lot of jump shots. A whole lot of jump shots,” Davis says as the camera pans to stacks of cash crowned with his 2008 diamond-studded championship ring.

The Baton Rouge-native was a standout at LSU and was even voted by his coaches as the 2006 SEC Player of the Year. As a sophomore, he led the Tigers to its first Final Four appearance since 1986. He skipped his senior year to enter the draft and won a ring early on in his career with Boston’s Big three—Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen.
