The Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me finally debuts in theaters on June 16, the late rapper’s birthday. Many fans and critics alike are intent on making sure the film gets the real story of Shakur right.

One person who’s already called out the film for not getting the facts quite right? Jada Pinkett Smith.

One of the main storylines to look out for is the relationship between Tupac and his lifelong friend. The two had been friends since childhood when Shakur lived in Pinkett Smith’s native Baltimore, and were classmates at the city’s famed Baltimore School of the Arts. Much speculation had been made about their relationship. Was it more than platonic?

After All Eyez On Me‘s release, it seems that fiction was better than fact. Pinkett Smith took to Twitter to dispute several inaccuracies of the film. While she credited Demetrius Shipp, Jr. and Kat Graham for their acting and their efforts in making sure both Shakur and Pinkett-Smith were both represented correctly in the film, she made no mistake in telling the world that several scenes were simply fabricated.

Pinkett-Smith also stopped past the Ed Lover Radio Show during her press run for her new film Girls Trip and discussed her issues with the film further.

No comment has been made at press time from the film’s representatives.
