Sports Betting Is Finally Legal

Sports gambling is officially legal in New Jersey— with plenty of other states likely following suit. Amidst the 6-3 ruling, the Supreme Court officially removed all red tape, removing a 1992 federal law that had prohibited most states from authorizing sports betting.

“The legalization of sports gambling requires an important policy choice, but the choice is not ours to make. Congress can regulate sports gambling directly, but if it elects not to do so, each state is free to act on its own,” Justice Samuel Alito wrote.

Now it’s just up to Congress to either let states make their own rules when it comes to sports betting or enacting a sweeping federal regulation throughout the entire country. Either way, the stakes just got a lot higher for your favorite teams.

“[Pharrell] has some great ideas and vision. I think it is going to be the most beautiful restaurant in Miami,” Grutman told the South Florida Business Journal. The grub spot is set to open this fall.

“Uptown Saturday Night” Is Getting A Remake

Another cult classic is about to get the remake treatment. According to The Hollywood Reporter, 1974’s buddy comedy “Uptown Saturday Night” starring Sidney Poitier and Bill Cosby as two friends who visit an underworld nightclub where they get robbed and are forced to go looking for a winning lottery ticket, is getting a fresh coat of paint with the help of Kevin Hart. While Hart is set to play of the friends, the movie is being produced by Will Smith while the most recent draft of the film was written by Black-ish creator Kenya Barris. It looks like another bag is on the way for Kevin Hart.

Rita Ora Apologizes For Lyrics In New Song “Girls”

Rita Ora dropped a new song Friday called “Girls” and members of the LGBTQ+ community were offended. The tone-deaf lyrics sexualized the queer woman experience and were belittling to several celebs—which included Kehlani and Hayley Kiyoko who called the song “invalidating.” Ora apologized to anyone she offended, adding, “‘Girls” was written to represent my truth and is an accurate account of a very real and honest experience in my life.”
