Tee Grizzley — Activated

Tee Grizzley pushes the button on Activated. The rising Detroit spitter rolls out his highly-anticipated debut LP, which features some big-name collaborators over 18 cuts.

Chris Brown jumps on two cuts (“St the Record Straight” and “Fuck It Off”), but he isn’t the only star on this LP. Lil Yachty, Lil Pump, Jeezy, Lil Durk, and others also hop on the street-infused effort.

The Michigan MC tapped Chopsquad DJ as the maestro for a majority of the project. Meanwhile, Helluva and London On Da Track are among the other producers who supply the soundscapes for Grizzley’s bars.

Grizzley addresses the album’s name on the intro title track. “This really my life with zero exaggeration,” he raps. “Some niggas just elevated / Got me feelin’ activated / Lost a lot in them cells and cages / But held on to my dedication / The money got me fascinated / Saw that shit and got activated.”

Ty Dolla $ign — Beach House 3 (Deluxe)

A year after releasing Beach House 3, Ty Dolla $ign paddles out once again. Today, the Los Angeles crooner surfs out with the deluxe edition of the 2017 LP, which contains six new joints.

Two of the new cuts are solo songs (“Number” and “Simple”), while the others feature some familiar faces. Gucci Mane and Quavo join forces on “Pineapple,” 21 Savage appears on “Clout,” and Wiz Khalifa lends a hand on “Drugs.” Meanwhile, Quavo comes back around for the French Montana-assisted “South Beach.”

Dolla is a prolific artist with several projects waiting for release. The singer recently told Beats 1 that he just couldn’t wait to release these new cuts. After dropping the deluxe version of Beach House 3, he is prepping for MihTy, a collaborative project with Jeremih, which is reportedly due next month.

Playboi Carti — Die Lit

Surprise! A year after releasing his self-titled project, Playboi Carti comes through without warning to deliver his newest offering, Die Lit.

Several guests provide support on this surprise drop, including Nicki Minaj (“Poke It Out”), Travis Scott (“Love Hurts”), Lil Uzi Vert (“Shoota”), Bryson Tiller (“Fell In Luv”), Young Thug (“Choppa Won’t Miss”), Chief Keef (“Mileage”), and Young Nudy (“R.I.P. Fredo”). Frequent collaborator Pi’Erre Bourne, who produced “Magnolia” and other cuts, also appears as a guest on two songs (“Right Now” and “Top”).

Now, fans will have to wait to see if Carti and Lil Uzi Vert ever drop their long-teased joint project. For now, listen to Die Lit below.

Fat Joe feat. Big Sean & Dre – “Momma”

Shortly before Mother’s Day, Fat Joe celebrates the holiday early with “Momma,” a new track featuring Dre (of Cool & Dre) and Big Sean.

The track allows Joey Crack to rap about some serious real-life topics. “My son autistic, my momma fighting the cancer,” he raps. “Praying for answers, I’m out here taking the chances / Around that time, my brother’s the plug / Who’d have thought, damn, my ni**a’d go blind from using drugs?”

Meanwhile, Big Sean rhymes about his sexual assault case of 2011. After thanking his mom for standing by his side throughout that, he explains his passion for charity. “My momma had lead poisoning, so why the fuck you think she care so much about the girls and boys in Flint?” he asks. “She like, ‘They gotta go from boys to men / From princess to queens, and if they ain’t being heard, you gotta be their voices then.”

Dre handles the chorus. “My momma, she the shit,” he raps. “Reason why I’m so legit / She the one that made a ni**a like this.”
