It looks like there was some ugliness in Un Nuevo Dia’s coverage of the beautiful game of soccer.

NBCUniversal’s Telemundo has reportedly suspended James Tahhan and Janice Bencosme from its morning show Un Nuevo Dia for slanting their eyes in reference to South Korea‘s World Cup match. Tahhan also yelled, “Korean food for everyone!” on air.

“We are extremely disappointed with our morning show contributors James Tahhan’s and Janice Bencosme’s gestures referring to the South Korean national soccer team,” a statement from Telemundo read. “Our company takes this kind of inappropriate behavior very seriously, as it is contrary to our values and standards.”

Unfortunately, Tahhan and Bencosme weren’t the only ones to be suspended. Several other cast members of the successful telenovela El Señor de los Cielos were also suspended for their behavior on social media. The Mexican actress Carmen Aub posted a video on her Instagram account, which has since been deleted, slanting her eyes. Her co-stars, David Ponce, Ivan Arana, Alejandro Felix, and Antonio Lopez Torres were also sanctioned and temporarily suspended.

“The gestures on the part of our cast members of El Señor de los Cielos in a video posted on Instagram which referred to the football team in South Korea are totally offensive and insensitive to the Asian community,” said the company.

Aub has since posted a video on her Instagram apologizing for her behavior.
