A$AP Bari, member of the Harlem rap group, turned creative house, A$AP Mob, recently issued a statement through his representatives addressing a viral video that showed him, his associates and a young woman in obvious distress. Bari is the creative head of the streetwear brand VLONE.

The video shows a person, assumed to be Bari, attempting to forcefully coerce a woman into oral sex. The woman can be seen vehemently rejecting the advances. The video, which seems to have been originally shared on Instagram, was later shared on Reddit. The clip has since gone viral.

In a statement published on social media, Bari states, “A misleading video clip featuring adult content and activity has been released to the public without my knowledge or consent.” He continues, “Comments about myself or anyone being detained or arrested are false. We have resolved this issue amicably among all parties as adults. We were friends before this and will remain friends afterwards. Being raised by strong women who taught me to respect everyone, I’m disappointed in the situation as well as myself and will reflect on the situation appropriately.”
