Our “Bodak Yellow” Queen Cardi is literally taking the world by storm, talking most recently with VICE UK i-D about her successes.
In a classic black and white themed cover shoot, Cardi shows off her regality on horseback but also her down-home side posing with a sea of Black girl magic.
Her unconventionality is what makes her equal parts unexpected and powerful — something that she is completely aware of. There have been few people on the screen or the charts who command the attention that Cardi does without any type of filter. But that doesn’t mean she’s not smart — she knows white people are scared of her for that reason.
“People like Donald Trump, they’re always going to make us feel like we’re less,” she said.”But it’s okay, because a bitch like me knows the truth. It doesn’t matter if the government and the Republicans try to make feel like we’re not, cos we is. I know the truth — we run the shit! We influence. We run everything.”
