Here’s What the U.S. State Department Said Regarding A$AP Rocky’s Detention in Sweden.
The U.S. State Department has sent a pretty clear warning to Sweden regarding A$AP Rocky’s detention.
“There are certainly some facts about the arrest and detention that raise concerns,” a department spokesperson recently said in a statement, per Billboard. “We expect all governments, including Sweden, to treat American citizens fairly and with respect. We hope to see A$AP Rocky and his colleagues back on tour and reunited with friends and family soon.”
According to Billboard, Swedish prosecutors legally have until Friday to decide whether or not they will pursue assault charges against the artist.

Pernell Whitaker, who was known as one of the best defensive fighters, has passed away after being hit by a car in Virginia. He was 55 years old.
“Police in Virginia Beach said the former fighter was hit by a car Sunday night,” ABC7 reports. “The driver of the car remained on the scene, and police said they were investigating the circumstances of the death.”
According to LoveBScott.com, it’s unlikely that the driver will face charges.
Ghetto Cowboy, Which Stars Idris Elba, Is Gonna Start Shooting Soon.
Idris Elba’s next stint will find him starring in Ghetto Cowboy, which tells the story of North Philadelphia’s Fletcher Street Riding Club and will start shooting on Aug. 5 to Aug. 30. According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Elba will also co-produce alongside Empire creator Lee Daniels, who is a Philly native.
“Directed by Philly filmmaker Ricky Staub, who co-wrote the script with business partner Dan Walser, Ghetto Cowboy is based on author Greg Neri’s award-winning novel of the same name,” the Inquirer explains. “Both follow the story of protagonist Cole, a young Philly transplant who comes to the city by way of Detroit to live with his estranged father (who will reportedly by played by Elba in the film), and discovers urban horseback riding once he arrives.”
