A$AP Rocky’s Assault Trial Has Begun.

On Tuesday (July 30), A$AP Rocky went on trial with two other men accused of “deliberately, together and in agreement” attacking 19-year-old Mustafa Jafari in a fight in central Stockholm last month.

The trial was held in a “secure” courtroom “because of strong interest from the media and the public,” according to the Stockholm court. Rocky’s mother, Renee Black was in attendance and appeared as if “she was about to burst into tears,” Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet wrote.

Chance the Rapper Has Partnered with Lyft for a Big Day Giveaway.

Staying true to his legacy of making his music available for free, Chance the Rapper partnered with Lyft to make his new album, The Big Day, available for free download.

The ride-sharing app made its “Big Weekend” announcements as part of the release of Chance’s debut studio album, and gave riders and drivers free downloads.

“I want as many people as possible to have access to my music,” Chance on Lyft’s site.

The download was only available until Monday at 11:59 p.m. EST, but you can still hear the album via your favorite streaming platform now.

Former BET Chairman Debra Lee Was Just Named to AT&T’s Board of Directors.

Debra Lee has started her next chapter after being named to AT&T’s board of directors. The announcement was made by the company on Monday, July 29.

“Debra’s outstanding leadership, deep expertise and strong track record in the entertainment and media industry will be terrific additions to our board of directors,” said AT&T chairman and CEO Randall Stephenson in a statement. “Her unique perspective as a media industry leader and operations executive, and her lifetime commitment to community service give her valuable insights I look forward to having on our board.”

Lee worked with BET Networks for over 30 years.
