Zion Williamson may have been shut down for the season, but the New Orleans Pelicans star is still having an eventful spring sans the playoffs.
His child’s mother, Ahkeema Love, was apparently upset with Williamson’s unnamed new love interest, and it led to her catching home invasion, aggravated battery, and stalking charges.
It began on March 17, which is when the alleged victim says Love egged the house she shares with the NBA player, Kenner’s Place, Pontchartrain’s gated community in Louisiana, according to WSDU.
Love then continued the alleged harassment digitally with an Instagram DM that, according to the Assistant District Attorney Ralph Alexis, read, “Don’t worry. It’s going to be your head next when I drop this baby. Count your days,” with a smiley face emoji.
Then, this past Sunday, she made good on her in-person promise and showed up at the house at 1 a.m. with her own key, which she was given, but she still entered without permission.
She let herself in and reportedly grabbed the woman by her hair and punched her in the face while she had her keys clenched between her knuckles.
After the assault, the woman was left with “cuts to both her eyes, had a lump on the side of her head, scratches, and four of her fingernails were ripped off.”
Love fled the scene but was later arrested on Royal Palm Drive and taken into custody.
Brian Capitelli, her lawyer, pleaded her case, stating that she has no prior record of violent offenses and reminding the judge that no laws were broken when entering because she had a key.
He also tried to downplay the Instagram DM because she used a smiley emoji. The lawyer asked for a reasonable bond amount because she has kids to take care of and is a stay-at-home mom.
Jefferson Parish Criminal Commissioner Paul Schneider let her off with a $50,000 bail, but she was also ordered to stay away from the victim and has to give up a gun she owns.
