Will Trent – Hulu

Source: Hulu / Disney
Will Trent is yet another police procedural (but this one is good) that features actor Ramón Rodríguez as the titular character and follows his exploits as a talented federal agent who has harnessed the trauma of his childhood to solve crimes. The stories can be serious but plenty of lighthearted and comical moments ease up the tension of some serious subjects like murders and kidnappings. We’re rocking with the series because it’s loaded with characters of color like Kima from The Wire (Sonja Sohn) as Will’s boss and his partner Faith Mitchell (Iantha Richardson). The third season is streaming on Hulu now, and you might as well catch up with the first two as well.—Alvin aqua Blanco
The White Lotus – Max
I’m all in on The White Lotus on Max. This anthology series has me hooked, and if you haven’t seen the first two seasons— binge them ASAP. Season three kicks off at the luxury resort in Thailand with gunshots, and in true The White Lotus fashion, we go back to a week before the chaos to see how it unfolds. This season we follow a very strange Southern family, a trio of women who secretly shade each other, and two awkward couples with major age gaps. But the real moment? Fan-favorite Natasha Rothwell is back as spa manager Belinda, this time as a trainee. Each week, I’m deep in TikTok theories that change with every episode, and like everyone else, I’m just hoping Belinda isn’t caught in the crossfire. I have a feeling she might be the key to unraveling this season’s mystery—including a past guest that fans are already mad at. I can’t wait to see who fired the shots, if anyone got hit, and what secrets finally come to light. But most of all? We just need our girl Belinda to survive.—Lexi Felder
The Gutter – Hulu

If you’re overwhelmed with the amount of pseudo-serious sports documentaries crowding your streaming queue, then take a break with a comedic sports movie. In the vein of classics like Happy Gilmore and Cool Runnings, the utterly ridiculous The Gutter has arrived on Hulu after debuting in theaters last year. The Shameik Moore-led movie finds Walt’s character discovering success in —of all sports—bowling while lazily bartending at his aunt’s bowling alley. Eventually, his newfound gift leads to him winning big cash prizes in tournaments after his friend forces him to join the Super League of Bowlers (SLOB). With on-the-nose jokes, asinine humor, and a random bowling enemy in a chain-smoking Susan Sarandon, The Gutter is an easy watch with decent laughs.
