While the Diddy trial has yielded some difficult-to-take testimony and uncomfortable moments for both alleged victims and Sean “Diddy” Combs, there are some financial details that have also been surprising. Former girlfriend Cassie Ventura revealed her 2023 settlement was $20M paid by Combs’ companies, with another $10M coming from the Intercontinental Hotel, where she was assaulted by her former partner in 2016.

But nothing may be more surprising than the financial situation of “Jane Doe” who has testified against her former lover for the last couple of days. She dated Diddy from 2021 to 2024, saying that she met him at a party in 2021, after dating a man she says Combs had a contentious relationship with. (As she is a ‘Jane Doe’ witness, she has not been publicly identified, but speculation about her identity is easily available as both men are public figures.)

Doe revealed that Combs introduced ‘freak-offs’ early in the relationship. At first, she says she enjoyed the encounters, though she says she ultimately wanted to have sex with only him. After a while, when she wanted to stop doing freakoffs and get out of the relationship altogether, Combs told her that she’d have three months to move out of the home he was paying for. He also said he would release the tapes.

“I just thought that it was a night of fun; I didn’t think that we’d be doing it again,” she said. “I think that night opened a Pandora’s Box in our relationship and I was never able to shut it. It just completely set the tone for our relationship moving forward.”

Per a Variety story, Diddy continues to pay the $10,000 monthly rent on the home Doe shares with her child. (She testified in court that she moved from a 1400 square-foot apartment to a 2300 square-foot home.) Her lawyer is also being paid by Combs. When federal marshals raided his homes in Miami and Los Angeles in 2024, a federal agent came to her home as well, though no search was made. Combs provided his lawyer as legal counsel, she says. Later, she was given her own lawyer.

Doe revealed that her sole income was child support and said that when she broached the idea of becoming more independent by opening an OnlyFans account, Combs’ response was, “Let’s give it time.”

Doe says she continued to date Diddy until his arrest late last year.

Doe is the second prosecution witness who has alleged that Combs coerced her into drug-fueled “freakoffs” while they were dating. Her testimony echoes that of his girlfriend and former artist Cassie Ventura, who also said Diddy controlled her with beatings, coercion, and threats of exposure during their decade-long relationship.

Now in its fifth week, the case is expected to last a total of eight weeks. Judge Arun Subramanian says he expects the case to end before the July 4 holiday.
