July 9, 2017 is officially “The Day Of Defiance” in honor of The Defiant Ones, a brand new HBO documentary about the lives and times of longtime collaborators Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. The film, directed by Allen Hughes, is a four-part series on how the two men from totally different backgrounds came together and changed contemporary culture.
HBO threw a private event promoting the film at Brooklyn Steel in New York City, providing event goers with pop-up art installations, and a special concert series headlined by 2 Chainz and Vince Staples. Other performers included Major Lazer member Jillionaire, Lizzo and Cakes Da Killa.
The documentary premiered on Sunday, July 9, and is available in its entirety on HBO GO, HBO NOW, and HBO On Demand.
