As the weather heats up and music’s summer season officially approaches, CASSIUS comes through with some of Friday’s hottest music releases.

This week, 2 Chainz dropped his highly anticipated Pretty Girls Love Trap Music album, DJ Khaled tapped Rihanna and Bryson Tiller on a new contender for song of the summer, and the mysterious H.E.R. continues to release music under the veil of anonymity with Vol. 2. Check out new sounds for your playlists below.

Sampling the ’90s classic Wyclef Jean-produced “Maria, Maria” from Carlos Santana, DJ Khaled calls upon the services of Rihanna and Louisville’s own Bryson Tiller for “Wild Thoughts.” With a video as hot as the single, the record is primed to be played at summer functions everywhere, further promoting Asahd as the best music executive of 2017.

Daniel Caesar- “Blessed”

For those who say R&B isn’t the same as the old days haven’t listened to Toronto’s Daniel Caesar. The 21-year-old singer has trailblazed a musical sound all of his own. As he becomes more and more exposed to the common music lover, his fanbase grows at a rapid pace. “Blessed” is four minutes of honest imperfect perfections in ballad form. Caesar admits that he may not deserve the love in his life, but acknowledges how blessed he is to have that form of love around him.

2 Chainz- Pretty Girls Love Trap Music

Although he stands as one of the most recognizable names in rap music today, there’s still a sense that 2 Chainz doesn’t get the credit he deserves. If you listen to his own music and countless features, you can rarely find a weak verse from the rapper formerly known as Tity Boi. With his newest album out today, early opinions suggest this is Chainz’s best work yet. Maybe he’ll finally get the widespread praise he ultimately deserves.

Post Malone feat. Quavo & Future- “Congratulations (Remix)”

Post Malone‘s single, “Congratulations” received much fanfare when his debut album Stoney released last year. Featuring a standout verse from Migos member Quavo, the song got a revival when Future decided to hop on the remix out of nowhere.

H.E.R.- Vol. 2

Not much is known about the elusive H.E.R. What we do know is that she’s been consistent in putting out some great music. Shrouded in secrecy, the singer has released the follow-up to her debut project, Vol. 1, and is primed to sustain her run of quality sounds with Vol.2. With the artist considering her new project “a release of Love, Truth, Pain Happiness, Triumph and Reflection,” she gives you just enough to embrace what she’s giving the world.

Looking to capitalize off the success of his smash hit, “Magnolia,” especially after getting a co-sign from one Mr. Shawn Carter, Atlanta’s Playboi Carti teams up with Long Beach’s own Joey Fatts on “New Bih.” Both rhymesayers hold their own on the record, which is sure to bubble throughout the summer.
