HBO Max went live today and the highly-anticipated streaming service definitely has some worthwhile content for TV and movie lovers. Folks were confused ahead of its launch, since HBO already has two streaming services — HBO Go and HBO Now — but the Max option boasts a vast library of titles and doesn’t require a cable subscription.
WarnerMedia Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt previously explained:
“Our number one goal is having extraordinary content for everyone in the family, and the HBO Max programming mix we are so excited to unveil on May 27 will bear that out. Even in the midst of this unprecedented pandemic, the all-star teams behind every aspect of HBO Max will deliver a platform and a robust slate of content that is varied, of the highest quality, and second to none. I’m knocked out by the breadth and depth of our new offering, from the Max originals, our Warner Bros library and acquisition titles from around the world, and of course the entirety of HBO.”
In addition to 2000 films, “Friends,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” “The Sopranos,” and more, all available on launch day today, HBO Max has a huge list of titles coming June 1.
Check out what to expect next month, courtesy of Variety, and subscribe to the streaming service for the full list of available titles.
