This year has been a great year in music. Music fans have been exposed to quality projects from legacy artists as well as rising stars who are finally finding their place at the top of the charts. Spotify, alongside TIDAL and Apple Music, has played a huge part in the rise of artist popularity. It’s because of streaming services like Spotify that fans can now tune in to special curated content while being introduced to new talent they may have never heard before.

To honor the recipients of the “Breakthrough Artists of 2017” title, Spotify decided to take things to a new level. 21 Savage, Metro Boomin and SZA have all seen their profiles and statuses in music rise over the last year, and their creativity has allowed them to make a huge impact in Hip-Hop and R&B, and pop culture as a whole.

The three young talents are now immortalized in Spotify’s “Rap Caviar Pantheon,” a new campaign honoring the best and brightest in music in 2017. The campaign also includes an art exhibit featuring life-size statues of the artists, who were selected from a combination of data analytics and musical curation, similar to the process in selection of Spotify’s Rap Caviar playlist and content series. The physical exhibit is housed at the prestigious Brooklyn Museum in New York City.

Along with the exhibit, Spotify collaborated with esteemed music video and film director, Director X, to create a video honoring this year’s nominees. Narrated by Pharrell Williams, the piece shows the creation of the three life-size statues along with the story narrating how these three artists changed the musical landscape in 2017. The statues are available for viewing in limited capacity on December 8 at the Brooklyn Museum.
