Looking for the answer to the gap East Los High has left in your hearts? On My Block might fill that up for you.

All Eyez on Me writers Eddie Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft collaborated with Awkward creator Lauren Iungerich on this new Netflix comedy series. It follows a group of friends Cesar (Diego Tinoco, Teen Wolf), Monse (newcomer Sierra Capri), Ruby (Jason Genao, The Get Down), Olivia (Ronni Hawk, Stuck in the Middle), Jasmin (Jessica Marie Garcia, Liv and Maddie) and Jamal (Brett Gray, Metrocard) as they start high school. Set in the predominantly Latinx / Black neighborhood of South Central Los Angeles, the kids face the realities of coming of age in their inner-city neighborhood.

While one of the kids struggles with pressure to join a gang, the younger girls struggle with catcalls from local neighborhood men. Through it all, they’re just trying to figure out how to ask girls out and deal with extracurriculars.

The series will start streaming on Netflix March 16. In the meantime, check out the trailer down below.
