Wakanda. When a film is as highly-lauded as Black Panther drops we can expect elements of its storyline to seep into pop culture, but Wakanda may arguably be the biggest star of the film. Why is the mere notion of this fictitious nation so enticing ? It showcases a place, a culture, an excellence that all Black folks collectively would love to call ‘mine’. And we’ve never had that.
