In many ways we have never been closer to the celebrities we love. Thanks to their Instagram pages, their Twitter and their Snapchat, we feel like we’re part of their day-to-day lives. The truth, however, is that these messages are sent through a filter that makes it impossible for fans to make a distinction between what’s real and what’s not.

Enter TV One’s new series Uncensored, which seeks to explore the intimate lives of today’s most beloved stars and influencers like never before. The 10-episode series will feature celebs like Tamar Braxton, Rick Ross and Tiffany Haddish as they tell their own stories, in their own words, in the places where those stories took place.

In the first episode of Uncensored, Haddish, comedy’s newest “It Girl,” breaks down how she turned tragedy into triumph on her way to comedy superstardom. From being in foster care, to finally getting back into the comedy game after her therapist urged her to take the plunge, you’ll learn new things about Haddish that will only make you love her more.

The episode ends with Tiffany telling a story about meeting different celebrities and the lessons she learned from each experience. She details hanging with  Beyonce at Jay-Z’s tour after party and  watching the superstar check an actress. And then there was the time she taught Barbara Streisand the lyrics to a Cardi B track, and she once made fried chicken for Chris Rock. You’ll not only get to know the star, but the human being behind all the laughs.

No topic is off limits for Haddish or any of the stars featured on the first season of Uncensored, and you won’t want to miss a second.

Tune in to Uncensored, Sundays at 10pm EST on TV One.
