Jay Z Is Now Forbes’ Wealthiest Hip-Hop Mogul.
Move over, Diddy. Hov and his $900 million net worth are coming through. According to Forbes, Jay is number one on its Hip-Hop’s Wealthiest Acts 2018 list. It’s his first time topping the list. In 2017, the mogul took the number two spot with $810 million. Diddy is right behind his famous friend this year with $825 million, while Dr. Dre comes in at No. 3 with $770 million.

TriStar Pictures has acquired rights to produce The Woman King, a film based on the true events of The Kingdom of Dahomey (which many say was the inspiration behind Black Panther‘s Dora Milaje). “The Woman King tells the story of Nanisca (Davis), general of the all-female military unit known as the Amazons, and her daughter Nawi (Nyong’o), who together fought the French and neighboring tribes who violated their honor, enslaved their people, and threatened to destroy everything they’ve lived for,” Deadline explains. A release date has yet to be announced.

Congrats are in order for SZA, whose debut album has finally been certified platinum. Top Dawg Entertainment took to Twitter to congratulate the label’s first lady on Thursday afternoon, one day after her FADER cover story premiered on the internet. While SZA may feel she could be doing better, the numbers don’t lie; girl, you be killin’ ’em.
Trump Has It Out for “Alex” Baldwin.
The president began his Friday morning by mocking Alec Baldwin’s “dying mediocre career” and inaccurately calling him “Alex” twice.
“Alec Baldwin, whose dying mediocre career was saved by his terrible impersonation of me on SNL, now says playing me was agony. Alec, it was agony for those who were forced to watch,” Trump tweeted (this was after he corrected Alec’s name). He then asked SNL to bring back the “funnier” and “far greater” Darrell Hammond, to which Alec fired back: “Agony though it may be, I’d like to hang in there for the impeachment hearings, the resignation speech, the farewell helicopter ride to Mara-A-Lago. You know. The Good Stuff. That we’ve all been waiting for.”
