For the love of the durag.

While the origins of the beloved headgear are oft debated, the one thing that can’t be argued is its place in Black culture. There are many milestones in a kid’s life but if we’re talking about hair, after getting their first fresh-cut, there are only two— tying your durag around your head for the first time and when your beard begins to finally come in.

With September 30 kicking off #DuragHistoryWeek—which was solidified by Vann R. Newkirk II in 2014—this year, CASSIUS is celebrating with a little help from you.

CASSIUS x Bonnets & Durags: A Pillow Talk Podcast are looking to feature dope ass durag wearers. If that’s you, we want to feature you by sharing your first or favorite durag memory or tip. If you want to be featured, shoot us a DM  on Twitter with your best photo in your silky/poly/velvet rag alongside your blurb (no more than 75 words please).

Send your submissions to us by September 29. Do it for the culture.
