CasBar: Mozzy Battles It Out in UFC & Talks ‘Gangland Landlord’ Album

Dismiss

On the latest episode of CasBar, we’re chopping it up with West Coast rapper Mozzy on the heels of the release of his anticipated Gangland Landlord album. We decided to switch things up, so instead of playing 2K or Tekken, we decided to battle it out with UFC.

But first, we gotta make sure everyone knows the rules:

  1. If Team CASSIUS wins, Mozzy has to answer any crazy question we ask. If Mozzy wins, he gets to plug whatever he wants for 15 seconds.
  2. To make things fair (and speed things up) the fights will only last three rounds.
  3. And, most important: Team CASSIUS better not get its ass kicked.

Mozzy had no interest in dunking on Michael Wade or scoring touchdowns. Instead, he wanted to get straight to business, so he picked up the sticks to play UFC. Wade and Mozzy choose Robert Whittaker and Wanderlei Silva to hop into the ring, and before the first round ends, Mozzy is reveals how being passionate about music while your family doesn’t necessarily see it as a career can be embarrassing.

Wade gets completely washed in the first round and doesn’t do too much better in the second round. Mozzy reveals that now that he’s made it, his new aim is to try to put his crew on, as well as the kids in his community. “We’re just trying to make a cake out of crumbs,” is how he describes his come-up story.
