On this episode of CasBar, our beloved host Michael Wade catches up with Diggy Simmons, who—after shooting his second season of grown-ish—is ready to drop some new music. This week’s game of choice? Tekken.

But y’all already know the deal. Before we get into that, we gotta make sure folks know the rules:

  1. If Team CASSIUS wins a round, Diggy has to answer any crazy question we ask. If Diggy is winning, he gets to plug whatever he wants for 15 seconds.
  2. To make things fair (and speed things up) there will be three rounds.
  3. And, most important: Team CASSIUS better not get its ass kicked.

Alright. Now back to the game.

It’s been a minute since Diggy’s played video games, but he’s looking forward to going head-to-head with CASSIUS. Despite being a little rusty (or so he claims), it’s only moments before he’s won the first round. And keeping up with the rules, his first 15-second plug is the announcement of his forthcoming album, Lighten Up, which drops on November 9. You can listen to the first single here.

Wade begins to wonder if it’s actually been a minute since Diggy’s gamed because—after sharing his love for vintage fashion—Diggy whoops his ass once again, and it doesn’t seem to take much effort. He then shares that the all new season of grown-ish hits television in January. He can’t share too much, but those who were waiting to see what transpires between Doug (played by Diggy) and Jazz (played by Chloe Bailey of Chloe and Halle) will definitely want to tune in.

Considering both Doug and Diggy are from Queens, how much say did Diggy have in shaping his character? Press play up top to find out, and we’ll see you back here for the next episode.
