Here’s the ‘Guava Island’ Teaser We’ve All Been Waiting For.

Finally. After three months of wondering WTH Donald Glover and Rihanna had up their sleeves, a first look at Guava Island—which turned out to be a project featuring Nonso Anozie and Letitia Wright as initially speculated—is here.

Glover blessed the PHAROS Festival audience in New Zealand with the trailer over the weekend, and everyone is excited. The trailer finds Glover, headwrap atop his dome, strumming on a guitar while his girl (Rihanna) stads by and listens. Later, the theme of the project is seemingly revealed when Glover’s character expresses: “We live in paradise but none of us actually have the time or the means to live here.”

Shot in Cuba, Guava Island was directed by Hiro Murai, who was also behind the music video for “This Is America.” No word on when we’ll get a full release, but you can check out fan footage of the Guava Island trailer below.

ICYMI, Meek Mill Just Dropped a Powerful Op-Ed on Criminal Justice Reform.

“Like many who are currently incarcerated, I was the victim of a miscarriage of justice — carried out by an untruthful officer…and an unfair judge,” Meek writes in an op-ed penned for the New York Times. “We all need to hold our lawmakers accountable for supporting unfair or inhumane policies and all practices that perpetuate injustice, especially for the blacks and Latinos who fall prey to them most frequently.”

The op-ed, released Monday, is accompanied by a 2-minute video. Read the op-ed in full here, and check out the stirring clip below.
