ScHoolboy Q — CrasH Talk

ScHoolboy Q returns with a CrasH. A whopping three years after unleashing Blank Face LP, Groovy Tony releases his latest body of work, CrasH Talk. The 14-song effort includes the previously-released singles “CrasH,” “Numb Numb Juice,” and “Chopstix,” which features Travis Scott.

Of course, La Flame is not the LP’s lone guest. Instead, Q taps a slew of stars for assists throughout CrasH Talk, including 21 Savage, Kid Cudi, Lil Baby, 6LACK, Ty Dolla $ign, and YG. Boi-1da, DJ Dahi, Sounwave, Cardo Got Wings and more lend a hand on production.

The album was initially slated for 2018, but the Top Dawg Ent. rapper postponed its release due to his late friend Mac Miller’s tragic passing. Q recently told “The Breakfast Club” that the LP also evolved for other reasons. “I was writing this album for so long, I switched it up for so long,” he explained. “I had it super introspective. I had it super, just all bangers. I kept switching it up.”

Moreover, ScHoolboy said that the album is a true representation of himself now. “I always catered to people on all my albums,” he revealed during the aforementioned interview. “I was always looking for a certain audience. This album, I was just being me.”

Abel, SZA, and La Flame’s “Power is Power” is the album’s focus track. The trio of stars reportedly worked on the song’s music video in recent weeks. Marshmello feat. Tyga & Chris Brown — “Light It Up”

Chris Brown and Tyga continue their longtime bond on Marshmellow’s new “Light It Up” banger. The masked producer-DJ brings Breezy and T-Raww back together for his latest release.

“Bitch, I’m a dog, but I don’t gotta chase the cat,” Tyga raps on the track. “They pull up where I’m at, get the addy from their friends / I don’t keep loose change and I don’t tie up loose ends.”

For his part, Brown also asks his lady to “Light It Up” on the cut. “She heard about me,” he croons on the bounce-heavy beat. “She know I’m a freak…Girl, you know there’s no controlling me.”

In 2010, Breezy and Tyga joined forces on their Fan of a Fan mixtape. Four years ago, they teamed up again on Fan of a Fan: The Album. The 16-song joint project featured a variety of artists, including 50 Cent, ScHoolboy Q, Ty Dolla $ign, Pusha T, Boosie Badazz, and Wale. It also included their hit single, “Ayo.”

Marshmello is on quite a collaborative streak. In the last month, he’s teamed up with a slew of diverse artists, including Sikdope, CHURCHES, and SOB X RBE. Check out his newest partnership with Tyga and Brown below.

P!nk feat. Khalid — “Hurts 2B Human”

Fresh off the release of his newest album Free Spirit, Khalid teams up with pop superstar P!nk for the release of her newest album’s title track, “Hurts 2B Human.”

The anthemic track features an introspective hook, which deals with pain and its effects. “God, it hurts to be human,” they sing together. “Without you, I’d be losing / And someday, we’ll face the music / God, it hurts to be human.”

P!nk sings about the voice inside her mind over the Jorgen Odegard production. “I get so tired of getting tied up in my thoughts,” she confides. “You’re the only one that ever makes it stop.”

Khalid also gets emotional while singing about loyalty. “Now if we defeat all odds and it was us against the world,” he adds. “You can count on me, you know I’d have your back.”

P!nk’s new album, Hurts 2B Human also features Cash Cash, Wrabel, and Chris Stapleton. It is her first official album release since 2017’s Beautiful Trauma, which featured hits like “What About Us” and the Eminem-assisted “Revenge.”

Kevin Abstract — ARIZONA BABY

Over the past couple of weeks, BROCKHAMPTON’s Kevin Abstract has revealed portions of his new album, ARIZONA BABY. Now, the rising rapper unloads the 11-song project on fans in its final form.

The effort includes six previously-released cuts, including “Big Wheels,” “Joy Ride,” and “Mississippi.” However, it also features new joints like “Use Me,” “Preach,” and “American Problem.” Famed producer Jack Antonoff and Romil Hemnani handled the bulk of the LP’s production. Others, including Kevin, sporadically lent a hand on that front.

As usual, Kevin gets deeply personal on this project. “I’ve been depressed like every fucking week,” he raps on the closer “Boyer.” “Ever since I left high school, I could barely breathe / Gotta take pills now just to help me sleep / Every day, a new demon taking over me.”

Abstract took to Twitter to explain why this effort means so much to him. “Put my soul into this album and I ain’t really tripping bout streams or sales as much as I was with the last bh record,” he tweeted. “I was just making something out of survival. If you identify with my truth or any of the shit I’m saying and u listen the work – thank u I mean that sincerely.”
