A Boston Red Sox Plane Reportedly Picked up David Ortiz from the Dominican Republic.

After being shot in the Dominican Republic on Sunday night, legendary Red Sox slugger David Ortiz aka Big Papi is reportedly recovering in a Boston hospital. A Boston Red Sox plane picked him up on Monday, according to CNN.

“The bullet went through his stomach,” Felix Durán Mejia, a spokesman for the national police, told CNN. But Dr. Jose Abel Gonzalez, who assisted in Ortiz’s surgery, said during a Monday press conference that Ortiz “finds himself in a good state of mind,” adding that they hope for his recovery to be a speedy one.

The Central Park Five Collected an Additional $3.9 Million in 2016 for Wrongful Imprisonment.

According to the New York Daily News, the Central Park Five collected $3.9 million in a New York state settlement two years after receiving a $41 million wrongful conviction payout from New York City.

“I understand people say it’s a lot of money,” Jonathan Moore who was an attorneys in both settlements, told the Daily News. “The reality is there’s no amount of money that would adequately compensate them. They’ve suffered every day since 1989 and they’re still suffering.”

Raymond Santana was given $500,000, while Antron McCray was given $600,000 and former co-defendants Yusef Salaam and Kevin Richardson were both given $650,000 each. Korey Wise, who served the most jail time, was given $1.5 million.

Country Music Fans Love Lil Nas X.

Not country enough? Tell that to the audience at this year’s CMA Fest, who were all reportedly chanting for “Old Town Road” a whole hour before Lil Nas X was slated to take the stage.

“The crowd roared with excitement when the 20-year-old rapper came out in a sparkly orange denim suit and white cowboy hat and boots with Billy Ray Cyrus on guitar and Keith Urban on banjo,” says the Associated Press. “He may only have one song that anybody knows, but the crowds in the stadium reacted as if Taylor Swift had been there.”
