Mother of A$AP Rocky Feels Her Son's Arrest Was Unjust

Despite the orange menace, Donald Trump’s best efforts, A$AP Rocky is still being held in a Swedish jail for allegedly assaulting a man. TMZ caught up A$AP’s mom Renee Black and asked her about her son’s current situation. Rocky’s mom believes that Sweden has it out for her son and is trying to make an example out of him, and his arrest was “unjust.”

Black quickly pointed out to the celebrity gossip site that if the current occupant of the White House can’t free her son, there isn’t much herself or anyone can do. Trump claimed that he told Swedish Prime Minister, Stefan Löfven in a phone call that he would “vouch” for Rocky’s bail. The problem with that is they don’t have a bail system at all.

When asked if she spoke to her son, Black revealed a conversation did take place since he was locked up earlier this month and that Rocky sounded okay despite being behind bars. When the million-dollar question of whether or not A$AP’s skin color had to do with the situation she reluctantly agreed.

“I don’t want to call the race card, okay. BUT that’s what it’s looking like. If it walks like a duck and it quacks like a duck, then it’s a duck.”

According to Swedish prosecutors, Rocky is only being held because they consider him to be a flight risk. They have until this upcoming Thursday, July 25 to charge the rapper with a crime. A$AP’s situation has been the subject of debate among the Black community. While some feel he is being mistreated, there is a portion of people who are as sympathetic due to comments he made about the Black Lives Matter movement.

It was announced that the alleged victim who can be seen in the video footage following Rocky and his entourage will be not be charged. Prosecutors determined he was acting in self-defense when he hit Rocky’s bodyguard with his headphones. You can watch Black’s interview with TMZ below.
