Just weeks after Anthony Edwards got caught up in a contentious conversation with 37-year-old Instagram model Ayesha Howard, it appears they’ve settled a dispute.
After battling in court, the 4-month-old infant the two reportedly share, named Aubri Summer Howard, will solely remain in the custody of Howard because he doesn’t want custody or visitation rights.
In Touch reviewed the court filings and discovered that during a February hearing, Howard, her representative, and Edwards’s council argued over the paternity suit.
Edwards’ side believes that Howard was trying to get a higher monthly child support from him by telling the courts she moved to California. However, she, in fact, still lived in Georgia, where he filed a separate paternity suit.
“[Ayesha’s] conduct here is unjustifiable and a bad faith attempt to obtain a higher child support order. Ayesha’s conduct of manufacturing a false reality and using the parties’ child for financial gains should not be tolerated,” the paperwork reads.
The California judge ruled in Edwards’ favor, kicking the child support decision to a judge in Georgia, and a new court date was set for later this month to determine which state will rule regarding custody and visitation of their kid.
The Minnesota Timberwolves guard has reportedly admitted that the paternity test conducted in December proves that he is the biological father of the kid, but while he’s willing to support her financially, he doesn’t want to be in her life.
“[Ayesha] and I have one minor child together, Aubri Summer Howard. Paternity was recently established through DNA testing. I am not seeking child custody or visitation of Aubri. Therefore, the only issues to be resolved are financial in nature,” his declaration reads.
He made it clear months ago that he didn’t want a kid with Howard. Text messages show that when he was informed, he told her to “Get da abortion, lol,” and when she later pressed him about that decision, he admitted it was “Because you bringing a child in the world that’s gone be without a father,” while he refused to be in a child’s life that he doesn’t want.
Now that the child’s parents are beginning to settle through the legal system, see how social media is adding in its two cents below.
