Candace Owens Backs Russia Because She Thinks Ukraine’s President Is A “Homosexual Actor”

At this point, it really just seems like Candace Owens must suffer from evil sunken place witch withdrawal if she doesn’t pop up every week or so to remind us she’s a terrible person. We’re used to the edgeless MAGA maiden jumping at every opportunity to flex her anti-Black muscles, and we can also count on her to be sexist and ableist, among other various forms of bigotry.
Well, earlier this week, the former Daily Wire host — who fancies herself a “free thinker” so long as thinking freely isn’t reliant on facts, logic or actually being knowledgeable about what you’re talking about — decided to remind us that she’s also seethingly homophobic, so much so that she would wish for a demonstrably oppressive regime run by a warmonger to be victorious over a country run by who she thinks is a gay man, namely, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who Owens called a “homosexual actor.”
“No amount of media brainwash in the world could ever make me hope that Zelensky triumphs over an orthodox Russia,” Owens tweeted as if she has a brain to wash or has any expert knowledge regarding the Russia/Ukraine conflict. “Spiritually, I just know that’s wrong. You simply do not support a homosexual actor that is locking up churches and bishops.”
From Raw Story:
Although there is no evidence that Zelenskyy is gay, right-wing figures like Ted Nugent have insisted that the Ukrainian leader is a “homosexual weirdo.”
Zelenskyy has expressed support for LGBTQ+ rights. In 2022, he said that the country’s constitution made it impossible to legalize same-sex marriage. Still, he was working with the government for “solutions regarding the legalization of registered civil partnership in Ukraine as part of the work on establishing and ensuring human rights and freedoms.”
Earlier this year, Ukrainian lawmakers voted to allow a Russia-linked branch of the Orthodox Church to be outlawed — because, you know, they’re literally at war with Russia — and right-wingers across the interwebs responded by accusing Ukraine and its president of outlawing Christianity, despite the fact that the law doesn’t ban Christianity, which would make no sense seeing as 85% of Ukrainians identify as Christian.
But, again, the people who claim to be all about “facts over feelings” prove consistently that they actually adhere to the opposite, and Candace Owens will always remind us that she’s a bigot who doesn’t actually know things.
Sad.
