Maxine Waters’ recent exchange with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has folks feeling anointed. Just ask YouTube user Mykal Kilgore, who created a gospel song in honor of the congressman and reclaiming one’s time. “Our beloved ‘Auntie’ Maxine Waters laid this sermon down so good that I had to sing about it!” he said. “Whenever anybody tries to distract me or block me (even with praise or platitudes) I’m gonna have to let them know that I’m #ReclaimingMyTime!” The song’s made so much of a buzz that Sunny Hostin played the song during The View. Los Angeles just signed the dotted line to host the 2028 Summer Olympics. “The agreement will bring the Olympics back to Southern California for a third time, after Los Angeles hosted in 1984 and 1932,” the Los Angeles Times reports. L.A. bid chairman Casey Wasserman told the L.A. Times, “It has certainly been a rollercoaster,” commending IOC officials for showing “a real willingness to be thoughtful and creative.” Folks are now waiting to see if the 2024 Games will be held in Paris, which was previously competing with L.A.
