You may have seen a tweet circulating over the past two months saying that Drake’s next album, Farewell My Love, will be his grand exit from the music business.  The album will reportedly be released in 2018 and will have no features.  Here is one of the many tweets:

Well, looks like we can tag this one #FakeNews. No reputable sites are reporting Drake’s retirement, and the 6 God himself hasn’t announced he’s giving the deuces to music. There is also no confirmation if Farewell My Love is even a real album and will be released next year. As far as retirement, Drake did say in 2013, “I mean I don’t even know if I’ll still be making rap music. I don’t know how long I necessarily want to make rap music for. You know, there are artists who are 35 and up that still make rap and that still works for them. I don’t know if I want to be that guy.” Four years after Drake said that, he is still hotter than ever. Since his song, “Best I Ever Had,” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2009, he had an unprecedented run of 431 consecutive weeks on the chart, which just ended last month.

Drake, who turns 31 on October 26, has at least a few more years before his fans will be ready for him to move it along.
