Cardi B Hosts Suite Lounge Day Party

Shout out to Cardi on her latest money moves!

Cardi B is officially the first female rapper to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart without the assistance of any other credited artists in nearly 19 years with “Bodak Yellow.” She is the second female rapper to ever top the charts, with Lauryn Hill being the first in 1998 with “Doo Wop (That Thing).” Cardi’s also the first female soloist to top the Hot 100 with a debut track without another artist since Meghan Trainor in 2014.

This success comes on the tails of an effort by Taylor Swift fans banding together with the Nicki Minaj Barbz legion to knock “Bodak” completely off the charts. The hashtag #LWYMMDStreamingParty trended as the two fandoms came together to keep Cardi from her rightful throne.

While not reflected currently on the chart, Billboard.com has reported that it will update the page as scheduled on Tuesday, September 26. Case and point, Nicki’s stans and Taylor’s Swifties can stay mad… while the new queen makes bloody moves.
